M — Mitochondria: Where Cellular Health Begins
You may remember mitochondria as the "powerhouses of the cell," but their role goes far beyond making energy. Mitochondria help cells respond to stress, regulate metabolism, communicate danger signals, and participate in processes involved in repair and healthy cellular function. Because nearly every tissue depends on them, mitochondrial health can influence how the entire body feels and performs.
When cells are under ongoing stress from poor nutrition, inflammation, inadequate sleep, environmental exposures, or other demands, mitochondrial function may be affected. That can influence the amount of energy available for everyday processes such as thinking, movement, digestion, recovery, and tissue maintenance. This is one reason cellular energy is an important part of the MILA conversation.
In RESTORE MILA, the "M" reminds us to look beneath the surface. Feeling tired is not always simply a matter of needing more caffeine or motivation. Supporting health means asking what the cells need to produce energy efficiently and what may be interfering with that process.
